We are commemorating all of the activists who lost their lives, are in prison, have experienced violence or became a symbol for the protests.

Woman Life freedom
Woman life freedom, Jin, Jiyan, Azadî, is an political Kurdish slogan which can be traced back to the Kurdish independence and democratic confederalist movements of the late 20th centuries, and was initiated by the members of the Kurdish Women’s movement. This slogan became a rallying cry during the protests which occurred in Iran as a response to the death of Mahsa Amini.
Mahsa Jina Amini
On 16 September 2022, the 22-year-old Iranian woman Mahsa Jina Amini, was arrested by Guidance Patrol officers for “improperly” wearing her hijab and was beaten to death in police custody. The Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran stated that she had a heart attack at a police station, collapsed, and fell into a coma before being transferred to a hospital. However, eyewitnesses, including women who were detained with Amini, reported that she was severely beaten and that she died as a result of police brutality. Her murder triggered widespread protests all over the country against the Iranian regime, which have been continuing since then.
Vida Movahed
In november 2017, Vida Movahed, a human rights activist, protester, and women's rights activist removed her headscarf in one of the busiest streets in Iran and started a movement against compulsory hijab, known as The Girls of Enghelab protests!
Nika Shakarami
Nika Shakarami, 16 years old, was killed by the IR police on 20th September 2022 during an anti-regime protest. Her body was found only after 10 days. After her body was identified by her family, they planned to bury her in Khorramabad, but the body was allegedly stolen by Iranian authorities and instead buried in a village in Luristan Province, reportedly to exercise leverage over her family and to avoid a funeral procession which could cause further protests.
Nasibe Shamsaei
Nasibe Shamsaei is an Iranian activist and one of The Girls of Engheelab street, who was arrested for her activism by the IR police and has been living in exile in Turkey since 2020. Her phot of cutting her hair (the ritual of Gisuboran) outside the Iranian consulate in Istanbul on September 21, following the death of Mahsa became a symbol for the protest.
Niloofar Hamedi
Niloofar Hamedi is an Iranian journalist who works for the reformist daily newspaper Shargh. She has been arrested for breaking the news about Mahsa Amini’s death and reporting on her treatment by Iran’s Morality Police. She has been in police custody ever since.
Niloofar Aghaee
Niloofar Aghaee, is an Iranian midwife who among many girls, lost an eye during a protest after security forces deliberately fired pellets at her face aiming to blind them.
Gohar Eshghi and Sattar Beheshti
Gohar Eshghi, is a civil activist, holding the picture of her son, Sattar Beheshti. Sattar was an Iranian blogger who was killed in november 2011 due to severe torture while in custody of the Islamic Republic.

Elnaz Rekabi
Elnaz Rekabi, an Iranian sport climber, removed her compulsory hijab at the 2021 IFSC Climbing World Championships in Seoul, in solidarity with Iranian women. On 18 October, two days after the competition, Rekabi was reported missing. The same day, a post was made on her Instagram account. The post also claimed that her headscarf fell off inadvertently, and she had competed without it. BBC Persian reported that Rekabi's passport and mobile phone had been seized, and that her return flight had been moved to a day earlier.
On 21 October, the BBC stated that Rekabi was put under pressure in to make a "forced confession" following her return to Iran. The source claimed the authorities threatened to take her family's property if she did not agree to make the "forced confession", and that Rekabi was put under house arrest following her return to Iran.
Mohammad Hosseini
Mohammad Hosseini was a 39-year-old Iranian martial arts athlete and Kickboxing champion who was executed by Iran's Islamic Republic for his participation in the Mahsa Amini protests. He was found guilty of Fisad-e-filarz (an Arabic term translating to "corruption on Earth") for his alleged involvement in the murder of a Basij militiaman during demonstrations in Karaj during the 40th-day memorial of Hadis Najafi.

Khodanur Lojei
Khodanur Lojei was an Iranian protester who was killed during the 2022 Zahedan massacre, one of the Mahsa Amini protests. Several pictures of him dancing have become symbols of the ongoing protests Iran.
Flight PS752
Flight PS752 was an international civilian passenger flight from Tehran to Kyiv, which was shot down with two missiles by the Islamic Republic Revolutionary Guards Corps on the 8th of January 2020. 176 passengers and crew were killed.
Kian Pirfalak’s boat
Kian Pirfalak, a 10 year old boy was killed while sitting in his parent’s car during the lzeh Bazaar Massacre on November 15th, 2022. Kian’s hand-made boat which he designed to participate in an competition and his video stating “in the name of the God of rainbows” have become symbols of the Women-Life-Freedom protest.
